Jafna peninsula in Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka is a country,that has very big and proud history more than 2500 years.Through this history, so many cites are emphasized time by time. Among these cities some was kingdoms and some was emphasize by any historical reason. Jafna peninsula wasn't a kingdom in Sri Lanka. But it has very importrd background in Sri Lankan histry.

It has situated in northern province in Srilanka and has surrounded three sides from see. Therefour Jafna peninsuls is very beautiful place. Even though we couldn't see that beauty in last three ducats, Jafna is one of very beautiful place in Sri Lanka.It has so many geographycal variations like beaches, bays.

when we think about relijion in Jafna, we can see people who are belongs to all the main religions in Sri Lanka. Mejority of the people are Hindus. So, there are many Kovils in Jafna. Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil is one of historical Kovil in Jafna.It has built during the medieval period retain significance for Hindus in the island.It is one of the most significant Hindu temples in the Jaffna peninsula.

There are very importent place in Jafna for Chritians. It is the Church of Our Lady of Madhu. It has Roman Catholic shrine that has united people of all faiths who try and visit here at least once. The shrine is known for its legendary healing powers. Not only that we can see lot of churches in Jafna.

There is importent temple in Jafna called Nagadeepa Rajamaha Viharaya. It has situated inanisland in Jafna. It has very important historical background. Lord Bhudda has come to Nagadeepa.

In Jafna there are many cultures, like himdu, muslim, sinhala. It has large historical background too. The main thing is arrivel of Sangamittha Thera to Sei lanka at Dambakola Patuna.

Sea products, red onion, and tobacco are the main products in Jaffna. Prior to the civil war it was a place of many small scale industries manufacturing household items as well as packaging and food processing for export. Most industrialists have left or closed shops. The present Jaffna economy is facing setbacks because of the unstable connectivity with the south. The prices of goods in Jaffna are relatively high compared with prices of south.

Education in jafna was in very good level before the war. But during war period students had to face so many problems. like distroing the library of Jafna. Jafna library was the biggest library in Sri Lanka. But it was almost distroied becouse of the war. But now it has build up again. In Jafna there is a Univerciity too.

Not only in education Jafna had to face so many problems during war period. Bulidings are distroid. Prices of all the things went up. People couldn't live in peace. Children couldn't spend their childhood.

Now the sun of peace has riced in Jafna sky. It will give all the good solution to Jafna. Elders can do there jobs and students can learn with out disturbances. and children can spend thire own childhood.
